Correct, you don't have to, but then it's like a religion, you don't have to prove your belief and I don't believe anything for which there is no proof.
I find it extremely unbelievable that shortlink sites should write in their rules "x accesses per day and IP", if they then were to pay "x accesses per IP, day and API", because in that case the information the shortlink gives about itself would be identical to negative advertising, as if BMW would announce their cars were suitable up to 50mph not mentioning that they also work above that.
I would assume, if the rule was "x accesses per IP and API" shortlinks would happily announce that in fat letters as a headline in all of their pages, because it would be a gigantic advertising factor for them, distinguishing themselves from others.
wow you sound so right. i think you convinced me just because you try to sound like you know what you are talking about. You probably have done extensive testing, have the script and have successfully concluded that with every visit the database is checked to see if that ip has visited today via all links and accounts.
